Aloe arborescens - Krantz aloe
Multi-stemmed aloe with red, orange or yellow flowers in winter. Ideal as a hedge for screening or as a group feature planting. Grows to 1-3 m tall. Suitable for coastal and inland conditions.

Aloe barberae (A.bainsii) - Tree aloe
Tall tree aloe with rounded crown, rose-pink flowers in winter. Grows up to 10m plus. Occurs naturally in coastal areas. Plant in light shade or full sun.

Tall, single-stemmed aloe with scarlet flowers in winter. Occurs in a wide range of habitats from dry inland to wet coastal areas. Average height is 2m. Ideal feature plant.

Aloe cooperi – Grass aloe
Beautiful grass aloe with orange or reddish flowers in summer and tolerates both dry, rocky areas or wet marshy habitats. Full sun to semi-shade. Ideal for mass plantings. Reaches an average height of 75cm.

Aloe gerstneri
Plants are single rosettes reaching up to a height of 1m with short or absent stems. Flowers are reddish orange and appear in February and March.
It grows well in cultivation and is an attractive specie.

Single-stemmed aloe with an average height of 2-3m. Beautiful greyish - green leaves and bright orange/red flowers appear in winter. It grows in a variety of habitats and is very hardy.

Aloe plicatilis – Fan aloe
Striking arborescent shrub, with corky grey stems ending in a fan-like cluster of bluish-grey leaves. Mature plants are about 2.5m on average. Scarlet flowers appear from August to October.

Aloe reitzii
Spectacular, hardy specie that is usually stemless with 4-6 bright red flowers in February and March, becoming yellowish orange with age. It reaches a height of about 1.5m. Tolerates extreme cold.

Cluster forming aloe with distinctive white teeth on the edge of erect leaves and bright red flowers in winter. Grows up to 1m. It grows well in acid soils.

Aloe thraskii – Coastal aloe
Single-stemmed aloe with strongly recurved grey-green leaves and between 12-18 yellowish orange flower heads per plant during winter. This aloe grows well in dune sand and tolerates salt spray. This striking aloe can be used successfully as a feature planting or planted in groups. The average height is 2-4m. Fast growing.
